About: The Prince Charles Hospital The Prince Charles Hospital Chermside 4032

Arrived to have my scope procedure performed in a public hospital. Was asked details about my private health cover. Not sure why, given this was a public hospital procedure. I think more clarification is required by public hospitals about this. Fear is that we will be billed by our private health insurers, e.g. excess.
Everything went fine with the procedure. From the nurse who provided a blanket while waiting for the procedure, to the procedural team who introduced themselves, (though the doctor didn't introduce themselves) and the recovery staff, especially Mandy who went out of her way to make sure everything was OK.
The only other thing I would suggest as an improvement is the posters on the wall in the waiting room. They are all about staff abuse won't be tolerated. For goodness sake, do they really think the person who is going to abuse staff will read these posters? I don't think so. I understand the need to protect staff but a poster doesn't cut it. What I would have liked to see as posters is something about how this organisation values their patients and will practice compassion and empathy at all times. Something that makes patients feel special while they are waiting. Surely that is more about patient-centred medicine.
But overall a positive experience. Just suggestions to help move this hospital from good to excellent.
