Recently I was admitted to hospital for surgery. I was put in the Day Procedure Unit (DPU) in Bunbury Hospital which is a 23 hour stay. I honestly didn't think after what I had done you would just be left and then sent home.
Could not complain about the staff they were excellent in DPU.
The next day I must have woken up in a fright and my alarms on my machine were going off. A nurse said, can you put the monitor back on your finger? I said it is and nobody came for awhile. If it wasn't for one particular nurse who got me out of bed, made me some toast and a cuppa and talked to me. :) She was so caring.
That was the last thing I got to eat. I had to ask for water and no food was offered, but everyone else that had come in that day got sandwiches and a drink before they went home. It was about 3 pm and I was hungry so I asked when I finally got someone, if I could have a sandwich.
I was release around 4.30 pm and hadn't even used my bowels and the repair I had you were not allowed to push. Got home and the next day was at Collie Hospital as I had a lot of pressure in that area. They soon sorted if for me.
It seems to me you are in and chucked out as soon as they can.
My spouse had to have 2 weeks off work to stay home with me. I was told that before the op. There just seems to be no care anymore :(
