"Waking up after surgery"

Waking up in the recovery room after surgery I felt I was subject to a rude nurse. Firstly as I lay there just having woken up, she was chastising another nurse standing on the other side of me. And then I felt she proceeded to mock me for looking grumpy and turned and walked away across the room, loudly voicing to all the other patients and nursing staff in the room that she had a grumpy patient. I, having not said a word felt very vulnerable and very saddened by the actions of this nurse. I chose to close my eyes and said to myself...I'm not speaking to you and went back to sleep.

Thank you for taking the time to let me know of your recent experience at St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals.

I am disappointed to learn that you overheard a caregiver communicating in this unacceptable manner and I apologise for any distress caused.

I would like to assure you that this does not meet the standard expected of our caregivers under the Mission and Values of our hospital.
