"Hospital systems"

About: Ipswich Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

In my opinion, Ipswich Hospital's antenatal systems are ridiculous.

Attending my GP and private midwife/diabetes clinic for my antenatal care after such poor service. How can you do an antenatal appointment by phone?

And then I received what were, in my view, threats for non-attendance after being told to ignore the notes as they had been changed.

Two instances I have had to attend the hospital and both make me reluctant to attend again. Both were regarding what I believe to be bullying from their stupid systems. Remember we are individual cases not always falling in the system, and we need individual 'private' appointments, no more of this 'group appointment' stuff with half a dozen people.

Dear monocerosjc68

You make a very important point.

Every woman who comes to us for antenatal care is an individual and the challenge for our hospital is to provide care that will best suit their personal needs.

We are concerned that you feel reluctant to return to the hospital and would like to speak with you about how we can support you going forward. Ultimately, we want to make sure that you and baby receive appropriate treatment and that you feel safe and well cared for by our maternity services.

If you would like to speak with us about your concerns, you can contact the Consumer Liaison Service, on 0409 275 503 or email WMH_CLO@health.qld.gov.au. Please be assured this offer of assistance is genuine and we look forward to receiving a call from you.

Yours sincerely

Lynette Barrett
