About: Cardiac Rehabilitation Program - Wonthaggi

Most parts of the Bass Coast Hospital in Wonthaggi are very good but recently, as a participant in the Cardiac Rehab Program, I have been very disappointed in the allocation of areas for the program to be conducted.

With the program being moved from the exercise area to an area shared by our program and other services we now have no privacy as there are people walking through on a regular basis and the other services can be heard talking and laughing with their patients which disrupts our lecture.

With this poor decision making, the hospital may need to re think its need to charge $40.00 per head for the program as we are currently not getting the service expected of this hospital management.

Dear Fossil,

Firstly I would like to apologise for the delay in getting back to you, and also apologise for the disruptions to your Cardiac Rehabilitation session.

Unfortunately we are needing to move a few service delivery and office areas around at Wonthaggi Hospital in preparation for the development that will occur for our new hospital. We are also relocating services to accommodate the building works required for our Cancer service.

These moves are temporarily limiting our space options for service delivery but this will only be temporary - once we complete all these moves and renovations, the environment for tour current services will be much more contemporary.

We hope that you will pardon our progress during this period - please be assured that we are continually reviewing the room allocation process to ensure services can be provided in service appropriate locations. Given your feedback, I have also asked our staff to be focused on working to ensure disruptions are minimised.

In terms of the cost, our charges are in line with Departmental guidelines, and I can promise you that these funds go towards ensuring we have high calibre, specialist staff.

Thank you for providing your feed back and be assured that we will continue to make every effort to maintain our service delivery to the community whilst we are progressing our renovations.
