About: Armadale Hospital Rehabilitation In The Home (RITH) Royal Perth Hospital

(as the patient),

I originally went to Fiona Stanley Hospital due to pain in my lumbar spine from an injury recently. They discharged me after 4 days in the hospital and said I have to wait 4 weeks for my CT scan appointment at Royal Perth Hospital (RPH). So they got in touch with Armadale Hospital’s physio team to look after me in the home. The staff who looked after me had excellent medical care. Alison, who is the senior physio from Armadale was very attentive and gave me all the necessary help. Dr D from the Hospital in the Home service was also very caring, as well as Jeanette, the occupational therapist.

The physio staff from Armadale kept chasing RPH to have a CT scan for my spine and they said it is a 6-month waiting list, but I need a CT scan at 4 weeks to see if it’s healing.

I am very grateful for the Armadale physio team for looking after me so well during this time while I'm waiting for an appointment. Once again, a big thank-you to Alison, Dr Dawes and Jeanette for their continuous care.

Thank you for providing us with your feedback so that we are aware of your situation and can assist you. I apologise for the frustration that you have experienced with regard to getting your scan at Royal Perth Hospital. I have spoken with our Radiology Department and what you describe here is not consistent with our waitlist times, which are, in fact, much less for this type of scan.

Without knowing more details it is difficult for me to comment or provide you with exact answers here.
