"Staff at the Royal Perth Hospital ED"

About: Royal Perth Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

I took my child to the Emergency Department (ED) on a weekend night. Due to the nature of their injury, the triage nurse took my child in straight away.  I ended up waiting for hours whilst my child was looked at and eventually admitted.

During this time the triage nurse - Nathan, was fantastic!   It was chaotically busy (as weekend nights are) yet he kept me posted as to when I would be able to see my child as much as he could whilst dealing with all of the other people coming to ED.

I watched all of the nurses deal with those in pain and numerous people I felt were rude, drunk, abusive and drug affected, with such unbelievable professionalism and speed. One of the nurses  apologised to me for having to wait to get back in to see my child as they was dealing with someone! The staff at RPH ED are incredible and I was in awe just watching them.   Thank you for doing the job you do so well.

Dear serpensrz95,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience here and recognise the staff that treated your child. We are very fortunate to have the professional and dedicated team that we do in the Royal Perth Hospital Emergency Department who work in very busy, and at times, trying conditions. I will ensure that your thanks and kind words are passed to the staff that you mention.

With thanks

Dr Lesley Bennett

Hi Lesley,

Thank you for passing on my gratitude to the staff at the RPH ED. Each and everyone of them were truly amazing in how they dealt with the various situations they were confronted with. (I had quite a bit of time to watch the passing parade:) )
