"Lack of understanding"

About: Fiona Stanley Hospital

(as the patient),

I was flown to Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) by the Royal Flying Doctors (RFD) after an operation at another hospital (read story here). I believe the staff at this hospital are unorganised, rude, and didn’t have a clue what was going on. I know I was quite serious at one stage but really I felt FSH wouldn’t have cared if I actually died in the waiting room in the 4-hour wait after being triaged through the ambulance entrance.

I hope I’m never in a situation where I do have to rely on their staff to regain a full recovery.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story about your recent experience at Fiona Stanley Hospital. Firstly I wish to apologise on behalf of the hospital for your experience in our Emergency Department (ED).

All patients are triaged and are seen based on the severity of their presenting condition. This means patients who present to the hospital via ambulance are not necessarily taken into the department before other patients who attend ED.
