Patient Opinion has an editorial policy which governs what we will publish.
Why do we have an editorial policy? We want this to be a place where you can read the experiences of other patients, and where the feedback offered by patients can make a real difference to how health services are run. So we want to avoid irrelevant or commercial postings (like spam). We also want to avoid swearing or other offensive language. Ideally, we'd also like any criticism of services to be constructive, however bad the experience may have been. And we would also like to avoid being sued by individuals or organisations which are criticised! That's why we have a policy.
What is in the editorial policy? Because something like Patient Opinion has never been done before, we are learning all the time. So, from time to time, our policy changes or develops a little. You can read our current editorial policy here.
