"Staff's number 1 priority is always the comfort and wellbeing of the patient and their family"

About: The Townsville Hospital

(as the patient),

I have been receiving chemo on and off for the last 3 years at Townsville Hospital. I cannot fault any of the staff as their #1 priority is always the comfort and wellbeing of the patient and their family. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. The nursing staff are very aware of the drugs the patients are receiving and check and double check everything prior to starting treatment, they are never afraid to question a doctor's orders if they believe that something may not be correct. The admin staff always follow through on what you ask them to do. The volunteers are friendly and lovely. And of course the doctors are great, they know what they are doing and follow up on their patients. Thank you to everyone.

Dear Chuck,

Thank you very much for taking the time to give us your feedback; it is greatly appreciated.

I am sorry to hear that you have been unwell for such a length of time, and I am sure you must have undergone some quite stressful and uneasy times during this period. I am gladdened to hear that our terrific staff have cared for you with such professionalism, friendliness and kindness.

I will take great pleasure in passing on your feedback to the Oncology and Volunteer departments; this will provide our hard working teams with a real boost.

In the meantime, I hope you are continuing to go from strength to strength and thanks again for sharing your story.

With kind regards

Julie Shepherd
