"Box Hill ED"

About: Box Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

My very young child required treatment at Box Hill ED recently and I wanted to share my amazing experience. We were greeted at triage by a cheerful nurse who engaged my child immediately. The ward clerk was also lovely and ensured we were informed of the plans for my child.

We were moved to the fast track area of ED and Becky was our nurse. This lady was FANTASTIC with my child who was tired and becoming bored and agitated with having to wait. Becky spent time playing chasey up and down the halls and sitting on the floor playing cars while examining my child's injury. She made my little one feel so comfortable and kept my child entertained while also doing her job. From a tired mother with a 6 month old to care for as well, THANK YOU! You made the wait a little more bearable and gave my child a positive hospital experience.

Dear Bec

Thank you so very much for taking the time to provide your feedback on Patient Opinion. It is through this feedback staff are able to recognise the great care and service they do, or improve for those times when the patient experience was less than optimal.

Needing to come to an Emergency Department is stressful enough along with your concern re the health of your very young child. I am so pleased your experience was so positive and it was lovely to hear the wonderful care and attention Becky provided to both you and your child. I will make sure she receives your feedback.

I trust your young one is on the road to recovery and you don't need to attend again for a very long time! We are, or course, always here to assist, but coming to an Emergency Department is not something people want to do!

Take care, Bec and best wishes to you both

Kind regards

David
