"Cardio rehab at Lilydale"

About: Box Hill Hospital / Cardiology Cardiac Rehabilitation Program (Angliss)

(as a relative),

Recently my partner graduated from cardio rehab at Yarra Ranges Health Lilydale. Over the previous 5 weeks he attended twice weekly on a Monday and Wednesday for 2 hours per session. I also attended mainly to gain the knowledge to advance forward after his cardiac event. My partner had a stent implanted at Box Hill Hospital when an angiogram found that an artery was 99% blocked. We both cannot speak highly enough about the care and professional help we both received during this program, and his time at Box Hill Hospital.

After rehab was completed we were informed that the programme was being shortened to one session per week, this will ultimately extend the waiting time for future clients. It seems vital to us after speaking to other clients that this rehab programme is commenced and followed through in the shortest time leaving the patient with as little stress as possible.

This program is totally patient centred and is needed in the Lilydale area, hoping something can be done to keep rehab at the 2 sessions per week. My partner is now back on the golf course and life is good again thanks to Lilydale cardio rehab.

Dear GRATEFULL CARER

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience both with the cardiac rehabilitation program held at Yarra Ranges Health in Lilydale, plus also the experience you and your husband had at Box Hill Hospital when he had the stent inserted. It will give me great pleasure to share your feedback with the respective teams as your comments will clearly demonstrate the impact they have had!

Eastern Health is committed to providing the cardiac rehabilitation program at numerous locations across the eastern suburbs. As part of standard practice we must always look at new and improved ways of providing our services, but to reassure you, the commitment to the program remains.

I'm pleased you got something from the program too as it is so important people have a support network to assist them to better health. I trust this new knowledge is getting put to good use!

Wishing you and your husband the best of health for the future.

Kind regards

David
