"Having a baby at Bunbury Hospital"

About: Bunbury Hospital

(as the patient),

The care I have received as a maternity patient at Bunbury Hospital has been outstanding. The birth of my baby did not go to plan and there were a lot of complications, but the staff were so amazing that the experience overall has been as good as it could be. The MGP (Midwifery Group Practice) is fantastic, I think it was because I was so well informed and supported by this program that I could cope with all of the challenges during my labour. The Obstetric team was professional and explained everything really well. My only complaint is the bedside manner of the paediatrician the day after. It felt like he made it all about him, in my opinion he behaved arrogantly and left me feeling a bit bullied. Overall though a wonderful experience and I can't thank all the staff involved in my care enough for everything they did for me.

Dear BHMum

Thank you for your feedback posted on Patient Opinion, sorry to hear that your birth plan didn’t go as expected. It is very pleasing to see that despite this, your experience was still a very positive one. I will ensure that your kind words are passed on to the midwifery and obstetric team. I was saddened to read of the bedside manner of the Paediatrician and if you would like to discuss this further I would encourage you to contact Dr Geoff Williamson – Deputy Director of Medical Services on 9722 1490.

I trust that you and your new baby are continuing to do well.

Yvonne Bagwell
