I recently attended the hospital for a Total Knee Replacement and would like to inform you of my experience. From my initial visit to see the specialist, Dr Antony, right through the admission to the discharge, home care and outpatient Physio, I have never been so impressed with the professionalism, care and commitment of any organisation.

The staff were outstanding from the orderlies, nurses, doctors and physio’s through to the caterers and the home care people. It was not only their professionalism and knowledge that impressed, but the warmth and care afforded to the patients. So often we see professionalism cold and functional, like a machine, but here there was empathy and a genuine commitment to the care and well-being of the patient.

From the time of admission I never felt that anything was an imposition or that I was ignored in the efficient running of the busy schedules of the hospital. It was about me, the patient and it all ran so effectively and efficiently. By following their instructions and their care I have had a superb result and am able to return to work some 6 weeks after surgery with the prospect of continuing working for the next five to ten years.

At a time when the health service seems to be under siege with negative comments, I would like all to know that the rest of Australia and indeed the world should try to achieve what you have created here at Osborne Park. I would like to name all the staff but it would be impossible for me to do so as there would be too many and I wouldn’t like to miss anyone out.

All I can offer is my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved and sing their praises at every opportunity.

It is such a pleasure to hear that your interactions with all the staff were professional and caring throughout your journey and that this left you with such a positive impression of our hospital.
