"Derby Hospital"

About: Derby Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

Went to emergency twice in a bit over a week with two different issues. Upon being called in and greeted by the doctor, I was asked what's wrong as I explained my problem which had been going on for 12 months (this doctor also knew me from Derby Aboriginal Health Service - DAHS). I was asked have you seen the physician, I explained yes and what the result was. Then I was asked have I seen a psychologist. I was sent home, take Panadol, go make an appointment at DAHS. At this stage I had a common cold as well. Went back  for a sinus infection, was told second time in a week, I've checked your history here at Derby Hospital, you're in and out all the time. I haven't checked how many times you go to  DAHS yet. I was told, I asked you last time did you have any other problems and you said no. My reply was I thought it was the common cold, I work with kids. I take medication that interacts with my immunity system.

This is not the first time things like this have happened, in my opinion, no wonder people don't like going to hospital for help.

I am so over feeling bullied by some doctors/nurses in this hospital, and being told it's all in your head. Quite a few things have happened to my family members at this hospital, saddens me to have to complain.
