"Joondalup ED"

About: Joondalup Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

I took my father to Joondalup ED after he had a fall recently. He had a large haematoma on his forehead above his right eye and sore elbow and shin. Mostly the damage was to the head. I had only just picked him up from the airport earlier that morning, after leaving and returning to my home he unfortunately, whilst getting changed, had a fall.

We arrived at ED at around 9. 15am, it was quite busy and more patients arriving. We saw a clerk within  around 20 minutes, she was very polite and well spoken. We then took a seat and waited. Dad was not nauseous or in great pain surprisingly, so we would have been lower on the priority  list I think. We had quite the wait, with a lot of ambulances arriving, so many emergency patients.

I would like to thank all of the wonderful staff, they work tirelessly in a high pressure environment. All were very helpful and polite. Professional and diligent. Sure it was a long wait but they looked after my father well and do a great job under so much pressure. Thank you so much.

Dear inspirexe77

Thank you for taking the time to provide your positive feedback on the Patient Opinion website. We are sorry to hear that your father had experienced a nasty fall that eventuated to an Emergency Department visit. It was however lovely to hear of your positive experience once you had arrived to the department. Your kind words have been passed on to all the staff members of the various departments that you have mentioned.

It was lovely to hear from a patient and family perspective the recognition for the Emergency Department staff that as you say do work tirelessly in a high pressure environment. Your comments will be greatly accepted and very much appreciated.

On behalf of Joondalup Health Campus we wish your father a speedy recovery.
