"My Nan's end of life experience"

About: Hollywood Private Hospital

(as a relative),

I would like to acknowledge the exemplary care that my 107 year old Nan received from the staff at Hollywood Hospital.

Nan was an independent living lady whose exposure to hospitals and medical care had been limited to the childbirth of her 2 sons, a knee replacement at the age of 92 and the installation of a pacemaker in her 90's. The determination of Nan's own "not to be a burden" and to maintain her own independence meant she was in her own home, had 2 parties for her recent birthday and had an active family life.

Staff attitude

Staff attitude

On her admission to Hollywood the ward staff were fantastic. Many of them had not seen anyone of Nan's age without a degenerative disease, other than old age. For the following 4 days until her very peaceful passing, the staff were attentive, empathetic and proactive.

Team work

Team work

The weekend teams were as efficient as the weekday staff and Nan was able to pass away in a dignified, peaceful manner with her family by her side knowing she was loved and respected.

Thankyou from all of Nan's family. It made it
