My husband, a post polio sufferer, had a fall and was taken to Fiona Stanley Emergency Dept by ambulance and was discharged after overnight stay, with leg in a rigid splint. He has a ruptured/damaged ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) and was unable to stand without the splint and Jon, the Physiotherapist who made home visits was absolutely fantastic. He treated my husband with respect and dignity and showed him the exercises that needed to be done with the utmost patience. It was such a wonderful experience and I would like the CEO of the RITH (Rehabilitation In The Home) to know he has a great team - what a caring, wonderful man Jon is. (Steve too, who covered for Jon on the couple of occasions Jon was unable to come). Both of them called and made sure it was convenient for the home visit and on one occasion, changed the time to accommodate my doctor's appointment.
Just wanted the department to know how we feel and commend these young men who treat us oldies with respect and kindness, their efforts are appreciated!
