"ER admission"

About: Margaret River Hospital / Emergency Department St John Ambulance WA

(as the patient),

I was brought in by ambulance at 2:00am suffering an acute asthma attack. I only realised later that the ambulance was staffed by volunteers from the St John Ambulance Service and I had roused them from their beds. From the moment of ambulance pick up/assistance to my discharge the following morning, I could not have been in better, more caring hands. Asthma attacks can be a bit frightening, struggling to breathe, and I was greatly reassured by the competence and prompt medical response by both the doctor and nursing staff. Thank you, everyone, for your care, and to Mel, thanks for the lift home.

Response from Sandy Znidarsich, Clinical Nurse Manager, Margaret River Hospitals, WACHS South West

Dear waterbk88

Thank you for your kind words.

Margaret River Hospital prides itself being able to provide high quality care.

Asthma can indeed be a frightening experience and I am glad that you were made to feel reassured by all the staff involved with your care, including the St John’s Ambulance Staff.

All involved are part of a very dedicated and skilled team, and will often go that step further.

The team work very hard to deliver this level of care and are always appreciative of positive feedback.

I will take great pleasure in passing your feedback on to our wonderful emergency staff and also to the Volunteer Ambulance Service.

Yours sincerely

Sandy Znidarsich

Acting Clinical Nurse Manager

Margaret River Hospital
